Thomas Tuchel gives positive new regarding the injury of midfielder Jorginho ahead of Juventus clash
Talking (h/t Football.London) after their 3-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday, Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel gave a piece of positive news regarding the injury of their star midfielder Jorginho.
The Italian limped off in the 76th minute in their tie over Leicester and there were concerns that the midfielder may have suffered a hamstring injury and could be out for action for quite a while now.
However, these concerns were quickly over when Tuchel revealed that the injury was not that serious.
“I absolutely don’t think so [that he’s a doubt]. He said he feels like cramps. At the moment, I would say absolutely no muscle injuries and with that, no doubt for Tuesday.”
Chelsea take on Juventus in their Champions League encounter on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge with the Blues three points behind the Italian side in Group H but would surely want to finish as group winners.
Blues fans can also be delighted with some positive news on their star striker Romelu Lukaku, who is all set to return after a month of an injury layoff. The German coach on Friday confirmed that he is close to returning to the training.
The 28-year-old suffered an ankle injury against Malmo in the Champions League in October and has been out of action since then. He along with Timo Werner both suffered injuries in the same tie. However, the German striker has already returned to the training ahead of the Belgian.
“Romelu is very close to team training, so hopefully he will join the squad on Sunday, let’s see how this works out. He’s pushing hard to try to come back as soon as possible, and we will try on Sunday.

Meanwhile, earlier in the week Tuchel had some bad news for the Blues fans as well regarding Mateo Kovacic. The Croatian has missed a few games for the current league leaders and the coach thinks there is still time for the midfielder’s return.
Regardless, Chelsea have enough in their tanker to be able to give the Old Lady a real fight in London this week and hopefully get all three points.
