Former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere tips Chelsea legend Eden Hazard to join Newcastle United
Speaking to TalkSport via Metro (h/t The Mirror), Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has advised Chelsea legend Eden Hazard to join Newcastle United amidst struggles at Real Madrid. Newcastle was taken over by the Saudi backed Public Investment Fund last month and has become one of the richest clubs in the world.
Hazard left Stamford Bridge in 2019 to join Los Blancos for around £100m but has endured a torrid time in Spain. Injuries and fitness issues have plagued the forward since the move, and he has been disappointing as a result.
The 30-year-old has just five goals and nine assists in 54 appearances for the La Liga side across all competitions. As a result, he has not been preferred and is at the bottom of the barrel currently. Wilshere has suggested that he should join the Magpies in January.
“Eden Hazard is another level, but I think Eden would love playing for a manager like Eddie Howe [at Newcastle]. He’s the type of manager you want to play for.”
Eddie Howe was recently appointed as the manager by the new ownership and has previously managed the former Gunners ace at Bournemouth. He also believes that the change would benefit the Belgian as it would be a new challenge.
Last month, the winger has been linked with a sensational return to his former side in England as early as last week. The fan favourite would be welcomed by the Chelsea supporters. However, with multiple options in the frontline, it may not be the best decision to bring him back.

The 30-year-old has suffered an injury crisis of his own during his playing career, and the ex-Blues forward may want to assess his future options. Playing time is necessary to get back into the groove, and a move away from Real might be the best option.
It remains to be seen what the Belgian forward thinks of the situation and where his future lies ahead but for Thomas Tuchel’s side, he seems like a player to avoid as the development of young stars like Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi may be hindered in such a process.
