Chelsea Plotting A Move For £32 million Rated Manchester United Target

Tiemoue Bakayoko signed for Chelsea from AS Monaco in 2017.

Tiemoue Bakayoko

Chelsea are believed to be preparing a £32 million bid for Monaco’s midfield powerhouse Tiemoue Bakayoko. He would be an important signing for the Blues as they prepare to increase their squad depth ahead of the new season where they will be a part of 4 competitions – Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and the EFL Cup.

Chelsea offloaded Oscar to China, in the January window and received £52 million for the Brazilian. The money they received is yet to be reinvested and it seems like Conte would spend a part of that amount on the Monaco star as the Blues plan for the 2017/18 season.

With Kante and Matic already forming an incredible partnership, adding Bakayoko would make Chelsea extremely strong on the pitch and they’d virtually become the best team in England.

Tactically, Chelsea have been miles ahead of their rivals this season and if they manage to strengthen themselves in the transfer window, it would be impossible for the other big clubs to cope with the Blues.

However, Bakayoko will not come easy as Monaco are still trying to tie him down to a new contract. There is every chance that the young French midfielder would stay in France as he would be willing to learn more under Jardim before moving for greener pastures. It would be a gamble if he chooses Chelsea as his next destination as the competition for places would be very high.

He will be competing with Kante and Pogba for a place in the French National team midfield and hence playing regularly for his club will be an important factor.

Conte will not be able to offer Bakayoko the promise of enough game time that Jardim offers at Monaco. Hence, it would be wise for the youngster to think twice about moving to Chelsea or any other big club for that matter.

Tiemoue has made 41 appearances for Monaco this season and has been on the pitch for 3150 minutes overall. He has scored 3 goals and has provided an assist and has been a commanding presence in central midfield for the French club. However, his goals and assists would not be a true reflection of the player that he is, as Bakayoko is a defensive midfielder.

It will be a true statement of intent from Chelsea if they secure the signing of Bakayoko in the summer of 2017.

Would Tiemoue Bakayoko be a good buy from Chelsea?
