Gael Kakuta and Patrick van Aanholt both started for their loan clubs, and Milan Lalkovic has extended his deal with Doncaster for another month.
Gael Kakuta – Kakuta made his debut on Tuesday in the Carling Cup match against Aston Villa, Kakuta had an excellent game and was rated as the player who caught the pundits attention – he capped the performance off with a well taken goal from just outside the area.
Patrick van Aanholt – PvA made Wigan’s starting line-up away to Everton, whilst his team lost 3-1, on a personal level he did a good job defensively and attacked very well and should feature again when they take on Spurs at the weekend.
Milan Lalkovic – He started as a substitute, when he came on in the second-half he caused Reading lots of problems with his speed and tricky skills.
Thibaut Courtois – Courtois has played six games for Atletico Mafrid and conceded just one, but on Saturday him and new team-mates travel to the Camp Nou on Saturday to take on Barcelona.
Yossi Benayoun – Yossi was on the sub’s bench against in the 4-3 loss to Blackburn on Saturday, and then he started against Shrewsbury in the cup during with the week, when he scored and got an assist.
Tomas Kalas – Kalas made his debut for Vitesse Arnhem, in the 5-0 thrashing of Roda JC on Saturday, where he had a solid defensive display as a centre-back. Then he played again on Tuesday against NAC Breda in a 0-0 draw, which his team managed to win on penalties.
Ulises Davila – Also made his first start this week, when put in a decent performance on the left wing. Against Roda he played for 68 minutes and then 77 against Breda – He will be hoping to get a run in the team to get more experience.
