Injury update and team news as Chelsea prepare for Aston Villa clash this weekend
Chelsea are set to resume Premier League action on Saturday as they welcome Aston Villa. The Blues will return to action after two weeks due to the international break. They will be hoping to get back to winning ways after the draw against Liverpool before the break.
With most of the players scheduled to return back to the club, Thomas Tuchel will have to assess the squad before they get on the pitch on Saturday. There are not many injury concerns but there are a few players that are doubts. In addition to that, there could be two suspensions as well. Here are some of the latest injury updates and team news as Chelsea get ready to take on Aston Villa.
Romelu Lukaku could be a huge doubt for the game as he suffered a thigh injury during the international break. He was suspended from the last game against Belarus meaning he did not feature. However, the full extent of the injury will only be clear when he returns to the club for an assessment.
Christian Pulisic is possibly ruled out after he hobbled off against Honduras in the CONCACAF qualifiers. N’Golo Kante has had problems with his ankle this season and he had to withdraw from France’s squad last week. He still remains a doubt for the game and a call will need to be made over his fitness.
