Transfer News: Baba Rahman has offers to leave Chelsea

According to transfer news from Fussball Transfers (h/t Football.london), Chelsea outcast Baba Rahman has offers to leave the club. PAOK Saloniki have shown some interest in bringing back the Ghanaian. There are offers from England and France as well.

An outstanding 2014-15 campaign in the Bundesliga paved the way for Baba Rahman to make a switch to Chelsea in the summer of 2015. Rahman made 23 appearances for the Blues during the 2015-16 campaign but fell completely out of favour following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.

The Ghanaian has since gone through two separate loan spells at Schalke in the Bundesliga before having temporary stints at Reims in France and Mallorca in Spain.

The Ghanaian’s career has been on a downward spiral ever since he fell out of favour at Chelsea, with the left-back struggling for regular game time during his loan spells over the past three years. He spent the second half of last on loan at PAOK Saloniki and is now back at the club.

Now, the left-back could have the chance to leave Stamford Bridge once and for all. He is said to have multiple offers from clubs, one of which is from PAOK Saloniki. The rest are understood to be from clubs in England and France. The defender has just another year left on his Chelsea deal.

With Chelsea’s current situation, Baba Rahman is way down the pecking order. Ben Chilwell was roped in for big money and has been the first choice. Even the likes of Emerson and Marcos Alonso have found it difficult to get games. At 27, he needs to be a starter at a club. It is clear that it won’t happen at Chelsea.
