Conor Gallagher to evaluate Chelsea future; Crystal Palace interested

According to transfer news from IB Times, Chelsea starlet Conor Gallagher will evaluate his future at the club amidst interest from Crystal Palace. The youngster is back to Chelsea after his loan spell but understands that chances may not be on offer at the club. He is prepared to leave on loan, with Crystal Palace showing interest.

Gallagher joined Chelsea’s academy as an 8-year-old and went on to progress through the youth teams, ultimately signing his first professional contract in 2018. Since then, he has gone out on loan to Charlton and Swansea, where he has impressed.

This past season, Gallagher was allowed to leave on loan as newly-promoted West Brom came for him. Despite the doom and gloom surrounding the Baggies, Gallagher was one of their best players last season. The Englishman has featured in 30 of 38 league games for them, scoring and assisting twice.

Now, given that he is back at Chelsea, the 21-year-old Gallagher is hoping to break into the first-team after his exploits last season. However, the promising talent is also keeping open the option of heading out on loan. Three other midfielders have also returned from loan deals and are hoping to make an impression on Tuchel. Nonetheless, Crystal Palace are among the sides wanting to take him on loan.

Gallagher is a quality player but there is a great chance that he might warm the benches if he remains at Chelsea. The youngster does look like a player who can break into the side in time but sitting on the benches could stunt his career growth, something Chelsea have to handle very carefully.
