Tuchel could decide to give this out-of-favour Chelsea duo a chance next season

Tiemoue Bakayoko of Chelsea has spent time out on loan at AC Milan and Napoli.

Two forgotten Chelsea stars to be given a chance next season

According to Express, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tiemoue Bakayoko could be brought back into the fold at Chelsea next season. With Billy Gilmour likely to head out on loan, Chelsea are hoping to utilise the pair.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea after an impressive spell at Monaco in 2017. Despite having a number of opportunities, the Frenchman failed to impress and has struggled to assert himself at the Bridge. He has since been sent out on loan thrice, including Napoli last summer.

The 25-year-old Loftus-Cheek, once regarded as the next biggest thing to come out of the Chelsea youth academy, has had his progress derailed by a serious injury. Having hardly played in the 2019-20 season, Loftus-Cheek secured a loan transfer to Fulham in the summer of 2020.

With both players now back at Chelsea and under a different manager, it would seem that they might be given a chance. The club are planning to send Billy Gilmour out on loan. This means that Chelsea will be left with only three senior central midfielders. Hence, Loftus-Cheek and Bakayoko could be handed another opportunity to impress and stake their claim.

It’s definitely a good move to reintroduce the players back into the side after long spells away. Both have had mixed spells at several clubs. However, they could provide some use to Tuchel who is known to rotate his options frequently.
