Transfer News: Norwich want Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour on loan

According to transfer news from EDP, Norwich are interested in signing Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour on loan. The Canaries are back in the top-flight after a year and want the Scottish youngster for a season-long loan deal.

It seems Billy Gilmour’s stock is the highest it has been in his short career so far. While the talent was always there, Gilmour was not handed enough chances over the last two seasons at Chelsea. He had to settle for the one-off games in cup competitions.

Billy Gilmour Chelsea of Scotland is named star of the match during the UEFA 2020 European Championship, EM, Europameisterschaft group match between England and Scotland at Wembley Stadium, London, England on 18 June 2021.

Despite the sporadic games, Gilmour was pushed into the Scotland squad for the Euros. Steve Clarke learned quickly in the first game that he needed to bring in Gilmour for the second game. A star of the match display against a side like England meant that he kept them quiet through the match.

While Gilmour disappointingly had to drop out of the last game due to COVID, it seems as if he has garnered some attention. Newly promoted Norwich City are said to be interested in bringing Gilmour on a loan deal. The Canaries are looking to add new faces after Oliver Skipp left the club.

Barnsley v Norwich City Sky Bet Championship Norwich Head Coach Daniel Farke isn t happy after Cauley Woodrow of Barnsley scores his sides 1st goal during the Sky Bet Championship match at Oakwell, Barnsley.

More Chelsea News:

Daniel Farke, the Norwich manager, has a working relationship with Tuchel since their Dortmund days and will be hoping to use that. It works for Chelsea as well given that Gilmour will be able to get Premier League experience and return as a more experienced player.
