Transfer News: Chelsea, Liverpool interested in Jadon Sancho
According to transfer news from German journalist Christian Falk (h/t Daily Star), Chelsea are ‘very interested’ in signing Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, who is also wanted by Liverpool.
Sancho, 21, joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 and has gone on to make huge strides since. One of the best young wingers in Europe, the 21-year-old has enjoyed a great rise to stardom that has seen him become a regular in the England national team.
Sancho won his first major trophy when he starred in Dortmund’s DFB-Pokal final against RB Leipzig earlier this week. His exploits in Germany have fetched him a lot of suitors, with Christian Falk claiming that Liverpool are keen on landing the ex-Manchester City ace. (h/t Daily Star)
“That is indeed, true, Liverpool are looking at Sancho again. He is on the list, especially because they don’t know what will happen with[Mohamed] Salah, who is always a bit on the move and thinking about a transfer.”
However, the reputed German journalist, then went on to add that Chelsea are also very much interested in signing the 21-year-old, hinting at a potential transfer war in the making this summer.
“Chelsea are also very interested, as we have reported, and also Spain lures him again and again.”

Sancho, this season, has produced an impressive tally of 16 goals and 19 assists from just 36 games in all competitions, despite having made a slow start to the campaign. (h/t Transfermarkt)
A player of his quality and potential, with his best years still ahead of him, would undoubtedly be an excellent addition to the squad at Chelsea. Even though we have plenty of attacking riches as it is, if a player like Sancho could be available, the club must go after him to secure his signing.
