Chelsea News: Emerson Palmieri believes he can reignite his career under Thomas Tuchel
According to news from Daily Mail, Emerson Palmieri believes he can reignite his Chelsea career under Thomas Tuchel. He feels that the goal he scored against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League could be a turning point. The Italian was only brought on in the 93rd minute and scored just a minute later.
Emerson’s goal meant that Chelsea won the tie 3-0 on aggregate and progressed to the next round. He has been a peripheral figure ever since arriving at Chelsea but this season, he has been left in the cold, with Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell competing for the left wing-back role under Tuchel.
However, post that cameo, Emerson played the full 90 minutes against Sheffield United in the FA Cup and also played for Italy during the international break. He felt that the game against Atletico was not just any other puting and could help kickstart his career at Chelsea.
‘Atletico was not a typical game for me. I was probably sent on just to waste some time but when I saw our players attacking, I went into the free space, thinking, “Will the ball come to me?” and it did. It was a very special goal.’

Nonetheless, Emerson still remains behind Chilwell and Alonso in the squad. Given his age and experience, Emerson should be playing week in week out.
That is clearly impossible at Chelsea due to the presence of Alonso and Chilwell. The Italian has been linked to Roma and Inter Milan and might just make the exit if things don’t improve.
