N’Golo Kante happy to play in his best position under Chelsea boss Tuchel
Speaking to the official website, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante revealed that he is now happy to play in his favoured role under Thomas Tuchel.
The diminutive Frenchman has been used in a ‘double six’ role under the new manager while previously playing as one of the two holding midfielders, as a box-to-box midfielder or simply the sole defensive midfielder.
Thomas Tuchel has mostly used a 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 formation and that has seen Kante play alongside Mateo Kovacic as two no. 6’s. Kante was particularly impressive in the Manchester United game, stifling the opposition midfielders with ease, especially Bruno Fernandes.
He now believes that he is playing in his best position and that he is comfortable playing there.
“It’s a position I have played many times. Here, at Leicester and in the national team. It’s not only the best way for me to play but for the team. It is good for me to play with someone who stays when I go forward, or I stay when he goes forward.”
There was frustration expressed by him due to the injuries. He felt that it’s not the best feeling to play a few games and then getting injured. He added that those periods of injury were a learning experience for him in terms of appreciating the times when he is fit.

Finally, Kante said that he feels good at Chelsea. He does worry about getting injured again with so many games but tries to avoid them. It is good news that the midfielder is finally back to fitness and performing at his best. Chelsea fans will hope he keeps flourishing in this role that Kante feels comfortable in.
