Michael Obi was found alive in the Nigerian city Kano, he had been missing since the 12 August when he was last seen in his car in Jos.
The footballer’s father is feeling very stressed, and it is thought his face showed signs of a beating. He will be pleased that his abductors are now in police custody.
The player’s representatives Sport Entertainment & Media Group (SEM) released a statement saying: “John Obi Mikel would like to thank everyone in Nigeria, his family and friends, Chelsea FC and their fans and his agents for their total support during this terrible time.”
Whilst his father was missing, Mikel bravely chose to represent Chelsea , and he played against Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion.
