Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel slams new book about him because he wasn’t consulted before writing it
Speaking in a press conference before the game against Newcastle United (h/t Daily Star), Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel addressed his disapproval for the new book that tells the story of his life.
Authored by Daniel Meuren and Tobias Schachter, ‘Thomas Tuchel: the Biography’ was released in Germany in April 2020. The English version is due to be published in spring this year.
Speaking about the new book, Tuchel revealed that the authors never even spoke to him before publishing the book. He revealed that the book is strictly unofficial as his permission was not sought for it.
“Nobody had the authority to write it. I was very, very surprised you can write a biography about people without speaking to them or having their approval.”
Not an autobiography
He clarified that the book is not an autobiography. In fact, the former PSG says that he hasn’t even read the book himself!
“It is not an autobiography… I know myself very well. So, I decided not to read it!”
Despite that, the German added that he is a fan of reading in general. Tuchel reads crime books to distract himself but says they cannot be too complicated.
Tuchel has had an excellent start at Chelsea since his appointment last month. The German is yet to lose a game as Chelsea boss and has helped the club take a solid position in the race for top 4.
