Everton FC are preparing a bid for Chelsea’s second goalkeeper Asmir Begovic according to a report from The Sun. The Bosnian international joined Chelsea from Stoke City after Petr Chech left the club and has spent most of his time on the bench. This has frustrated him and apparently he is looking for a way out of Stamford Bridge.
The 28 year old goalkeeper was always going to play second fiddle to Thiabut Courtouis and things has not changed. During the beginning of the season when Courtois was injured Begovic managed to receive some game time but since the return of the Belgian he has been majorly overlooked thus far.
Under Guss Hiddink the player has made just one appearance and now Everton are willing to pay £8 million for him. Also considering that Tim Howard destined to leave Everton for MLS club Colorado Rapids, he will be instated as the first-choice goalkeeper at Goodison Park.
