Chelsea eased past Galatasaray in the week to progress into the quarter-finals of the Champions League. We will now play Paris Saint Germain over two legs for a place in the semis, but before that it’s the big one in the league. Tomorrow we play host to Arsenal in a top of the table clash, so here is how I would set my team up if I was Jose Mourinho.
I’d stick with the 4-2-3-1 formation and start Petr Cech in goal, naturally. I’d also keep the back four the same, which means I would start with Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, John Terry and Cesar Azpilicueta.
In the two central slots I would go for Frank Lampard and Nemanja Matic, which gives a nice balance in the middle, and I would unleash Oscar just ahead of them in the attacking midfield slot, or the traditional number 10 role, as it were.
I’d have Eden Hazard on the left, Andre Schurrle on the right and have Samuel Eto’o leading the line. I think the African’s movement will cause Mertesacker and Koscielny problems if he is given support and could be the difference between the sides.
We saw how shaky the Gunners can be in their 1-0 win over Spurs, so let’s take the game to them.
Come on you Blues.
