Chelsea fans can be proud of their team right now, and I mean really proud. Not only have we seen the Blues march up the table to now sitting just two points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table, we [Chelsea] are still in the Champions League and the fitfth round of the FA Cup.
It’s exciting times back at Stamford Bridge, and although I feel we are short of a striker, I firmly believe we will have a successful second half of the season.
The 1-0 win away at Manchester City this week only heightened expectations, and we did it without Brazilian wizard Oscar.
The playmaker has been exceptional this season and is probably one of the first names on the team sheet. He works his socks off every game he plays in and he deserved a rest for the trip to the Etihad, though it was a brave move from Mourinho.
the 22-year-old has been essential to our success this season. His determination to get back and help defensively has seen him retain his side in the place and his ability going forward has made him a fans favourite.
Newcastle fans will feel just how able he is going forward this weekend, I am sure, as he is likely to come back into the side after his rest on the bench. He will undoubtedly have a point to prove, and if he can pick up where he left off from his other 22 games then Alan Pardew’s side are in big trouble.
He has scored six goals and has two assists this season in the league and will be gunning for more at the Bridge on Saturday, and if Toon don’t keep their wits about them then I am sure he will get it.
