Despite Chelsea’s impressive 6-2 victory over the Wolves in the current Premier League season, the road ahead remains challenging. They are currently positioned 11th in the league table, having secured only four points from their initial three matches.
While many players from the squad are away on international duty, manager Enzo Maresca is intensifying training sessions for the 14 players who remained at Cobham.
In the latest developments, the English club has suffered another setback as their 23-year-old midfielder has encountered fresh troubles.
FIFA World Cup 2022 winner fined £3,020 for two driving offences
According to a report by the British news outlet Sky News, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Maresca has been banned from driving and is penalized with a £3,020 fine for two rash driving offenses.
An Argentina squad member from the team that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar was sentenced at Llanelli Magistrates Court in Carmarthenshire on Wednesday. The footballer was found guilty of failing to identify the driver of a Porsche Cayenne on December 27 of the previous year.
The star player earns £180,000-per-week at Chelsea and is one of the integral parts of Maresca’s plans. Moreover, Fernandez was also sentenced for a further offense of failing to identify the driver of a vehicle on 24 January.
A driver was reportedly caught speeding on Carmarthen Road in Swansea and, in a separate incident, running a red light on Church Street in Llanelli. However, it was not confirmed that the footballer from San Martin was behind the wheel on either occasion.
Though these things are not going to matter much, such kind of scenarios could tarnish the club’s image as they are already going through times. The players must act quite meticulously and focus on their game rather than getting involved in such kind of activities that could attract criticism.
