Chelsea have been subject to aggressive links with Victor Osimhen over the recently concluded summer transfer window, and the Blues pursuit of the Nigerian center-forward has continued to dominate headlines beyond the transfer interval.
The West Londoners wanted to bring in a highly clinical striker ahead of the new season to ensure that the chances falling their way are buried deep almost all the time. Chelsea were one of the sides that misfired the most in the previous campaign, and brining in a highly acclaimed goal scorer would change the dynamics.
Juventus enter the race for Osimhen
While Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for Osimhen, Italian giants Juventus have entered the race to secure his signatures, per soccernet.ng.
The player is in a stalemate with his current employers, Napoli, and is currently playing on loan for Turkish giants Galatasaray, where he has already instantly made an impact.
While the Blues were the running frontrunners for the 25-year-old’s signature, they will now face Juventus in bid to sign the striker with a €75 million release clause with the Naples-based side.
For Chelsea, not signing Osimhen has worked out to be a blessing in disguise, as this has provided Nikolas Jackson the space to settle into the squad, and he is now scoring goals and replicating his form at Villarreal, which pushed the Blues to secure his signatures.
For Osimhen, we will have to see whether Chelsea will push Juventus to the boundaries to land the 25-year-old or will any third club enter the fray to win his signatures. At the moment, Juventus have entered the race in what is going to be an exciting summer speculation of a highly acclaimed player.
