Chelsea have a big squad at the moment, and the chiefs in charge of the roster at Enzo Maresca’s disposal need to start disposing of the surplus at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have lost a few players in the recently concluded summer transfer window, and they can still sell one of the highly rated midfielders in Carney Chukwuemeka.
The likes of Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku, and Armando Broja are among a few players that have bid adieu to the West Londoners last summer. Departure of Chukwuemeka would continue the summer overhaul.
Chukwuemeka could be next out the door
Carney Chukwuemeka has not featured once under the former Leicester City boss this season, and he is down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge at the moment. And Turkish giants Galatasaray are set to take advantage of the opportunity to land the former Aston Villa midfielder, per TeamTalk.
The 20-year-old was a regular presence on Chelsea’s roster under Mauricio Pochettino last season; however, he has lost his place in the side since his injury and has been in and out of the squad since.
Chelsea are not expected to stand in the way of a possible transfer if the Turkish giants are able to convince the player to make a move to Galatasaray.
Everything is down to Chukwuemeka and what he thinks is the best for taking the next steps in his career. Should he wait out for opportunities at Chelsea or grab opportunities in Turkey?
Chelsea’s loss could be Turkey’s gain
Carney Chukwuemeka is a highly anticipated talent, and we have seen him use his abilities in the English top tier at Villa. It is difficult to see sporting reasons for Chelsea looking to sell the 20-year-old.
The head coach can use him in the Conference League games to build trust and understanding of the playing philosophy, if that’s the case. Although that’s not the reality at the moment.
Galatasaray will have to work swiftly if they are to secure the 20-year-old’s services this summer, as there is not much time left before the window calls for closure in Turkey.
