Chelsea get a clear passage in their pursuit of African striker

Despite making 12 new signings and spending over £200 million in the recently closed summer transfer window, Chelsea still resemble a hungry lion, having failed to secure their priority striker, Victor Osimhen, from Italian club Napoli.

The Blueco. tried their very best until the last-minute deadline to negotiate a deal with the Nigerian. The talks eventually failed as the African football icon headed to Turkey to spend his season-long loan spell with Galatasaray.

However, the doors are still not closed for the Premier League giants to try and persuade Osimhen again.

Chelsea get a big boost in their future bid for Osimhen

According to a report by the news outlet GIVEMESPORT, Arsenal have dropped their plans to bid for Osimhen when the transfer window reopens at the end of this year.

That gives Enzo Maresca and co. a clear passage to crack a deal with the winner of the African Footballer of the Year 2023

The report also states that the Gunners abandoned their interest in signing the player due to doubts about whether his personality and character would mesh well with the team. Manager Mikel Arteta was intent on preventing any issues that could disrupt the harmony in the dressing room.

Chelsea should return for Victor Osimhen in January

It remains to be seen if the Blues will make another determined effort to secure Osimhen on a permanent deal at Stamford Bridge.

Contrarily, it will be intriguing to see which players the West Londoners decide to let go from their offensive lineup, as maintaining such a large squad could prove detrimental rather than beneficial.

Additionally, the inclusion of Pedro Neto and Joao Felix in the forward lineup could complicate matters, potentially leading to a challenging and complex situation.

It remains to be seen how the situation turns out for Osimhen and Chelsea in January. There is a deal to be had here should the two parties make an effort to reach an agreement and let’s wait and see how it goes.
