Chelsea defensive star sustains injury during international duty.

While Chelsea are already struggling with peculiar transfer scenarios and injury concerns, they’ve received another blow.

One of their new signings has suffered an injury while on international duty for Denmark U21. While their regular captain, Reece James, alongside other players like Malo Gusto, are already in the treatment bed, such kind of unwanted developments will only increase their tensions.

As the Pensioners gear up for their next Premier League fixture against Bournemouth on September 15, it will likely be seen how the club frames their squad as they currently stand at the 11th spot in the points table.

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen injured during national duty

As per a report by the British outlet Metro.co.uk, Chelsea’s goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen received an injury while representing Denmark U22 in their recent 5-0 victory against the Czech Republic. The 22-year-old signed for the Blues from Spanish club Villarreal in the recently closed summer transfer window. Notably, he is currently valued at €20 million by Transfermarkt.

However the Dane is yet to make his Premier League debut, he started for his new club in both legs of their UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers against Servette.

Though Jørgensen is not the first-choice keeper for the club, his presence in the English giants’ squad is a subject of utter importance. Maresca is already struggling with a lot of issues as there are still heavy clouds looming over the fitness prospects of Romeo Lavia and Cole Palmer.

Considering the other prospects for the club, David Fofana’s reported loan deal to AEK Athens has collapsed. The club and the player’s representative are already working to explore other available options.

While their abandoned stalwart Ben Chilwell is still at Stamford Bridge in search of a lucrative offer to move on he has received a clear message that there is no place for him at West London.

Maresca and co. have won, lost, and drawn each of the three games they’ve played in the Premier League season so far and they will be eager to further rise in the table as they move ahead.
