Trevoh Chalobah transfer saga begins as West Ham and Crystal Palace show interest
According to talkSPORT, as reported by Football London, West Ham United are looking into the possibility of signing Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea, and Crystal Palace could be in for him as well if they were to lose Marc Guéhi.
Speculation about Chalobah’s future has only increased in recent days as the former England U21 international was left out of the Blues’ squad touring the US as part of their 2024/25 pre-season itinerary.
Palace’s Guéhi, interestingly, is also being targeted by Chelsea.
2023/24 was a trying season for Chalobah as injuries restricted his game time at Stamford Bridge. He made only 17 appearances last season across all competitions.
Chalobah is valued at €13 million (almost £11 million at the time of writing) by Transfermarkt, though Chelsea are expected to ask in the region of £25 million in order to consider letting him go this summer.
The 25-year-old currently has a £50k-per-week contract with Chelsea which is set to run until June 2028.
A London move would suit Chalobah
Trevoh Chalobah being a academy graduate puts him in the pure-profit category for Chelsea, and having omitted him from their pre-season tour, it is clear the club are willing to let him leave.
A multi-faceted defender, capable of playing at centre-back as well as a fullback and defensive midfielder, Chalobah is a Swiss army knife at the back that could easily slot in for any midtable Premier League team. Given he has spent time at Lorient out in France in the past as well, one must not rule out a move away from England as well.

The easiest move for Chalobah, however, would naturally be to another London club as he tries to gain momentum in his career as he advances towards his prime years.
