Fabrizio Romano gives a huge update on 20-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge

Will Andrey Santos continue at Chelsea this summer?

Chelsea have reportedly made a massive transfer decision this week as the West Londoners have concluded on the decision of Andrey Santos’ immediate future at Stamford Bridge, per an exclusive by ever-reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Much has been said and anticipated about Andrey Santos and what the board at the Bridge is going to do with him this summer. Many fans and pundits alike thought that the 20-year-old would continue with the Blues and help Enzo Maresca‘s side rather than heading out on loan for yet another season.

However, looking into his development and how he needs to accumulate minutes under his belt, which is something that would hardly come his way at Chelsea at the moment, this might be the better decision. If the Brazilian stays in West London beyond the summer, he would start the season down the pecking order, and the game time coming his way would be very much limited to domestic cups and the Conference League. This leaves an option for him to simply go out on loan, and it looks like that is very much what he would be doing this summer.

Santos’ to continue development in France

Chelsea to loan Santos back to France

Fabrizio Romano insists that Chelsea will send Andrey Santos on loan to Strasbourg, where the 20-year-old spent last season on a temporary deal as well. He will be heading back to France following the conclusion of Chelsea’s US tour.

The Italian took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote:

“Andrey Santos will return to Strasbourg on loan after going on a US tour with Chelsea; deal done. BVB and more clubs were keen on signing him, but Andrey spoke to Liam Rosenior about the style of play implemented at Chelsea and Strasbourg. Andrey is a big part of Chelsea’s future plans.”

While Fabrizio emphasizes how Santos is an integral part of Chelsea, he also puts out that the game time is very improbable for him, and it is unlikely that comes his way unless one of Romeo Lavia, Enzo Fernandez, or Moises Caicedo were to depart.

We will see how this goes, but Santos is a huge talent, and we should see him playing in Chelsea colours sooner or later.
