As Chelsea get ready to depart for their 2024/25 pre-season tour of the US, new summer signing Tosin Adarabioyo recently sat down with the club’s in-house media team for an interview.
Speaking to them, the 26-year-old revealed how he was feeling about life at Chelsea after the first weeks.
“Pre-season has been great so far. All the training sessions and getting to know the boys have been real highlights. I’ve had a lot of fun so far.
“Everyone has been great with me and helped me settle. It’s been great getting to know all of them – and I think that’s shown in that picture of the winners in the gym session earlier in the week.
“I’ve enjoyed my first few weeks. We are working hard and learning the way the manager [Enzo Maresca] wants us to play. We have spent time focusing on that while doing the physical work.
“It’s great because he is asking a lot of me and the other defenders. It starts with the central defenders and the goalkeeper; we are the focal point.”

A graduate of the Man City academy, Adarabioyo never really got a chance to make a name for himself in the Sky Blue shirt, though season-long loan spells at West Brom and then Blackburn got him enough plaudits to earn a permanent move to Fulham, where he established himself as a reliable Premier League centre-back.
The former England U19 international moved to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer after his contract with Fulham expired. Apart from him, Chelsea have also roped in Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Renato Veiga this summer, while the likes of Estêvão Willian and Kendry Páez are set to arrive at the club next year.
Adarabioyo’s contract at Chelsea, fetching him £120k per week, is set to run until June 2028.
Given both Chelsea are Fulham are based in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, moving between those two clubs is one of the easiest transitions one could ask for, at least from a logistical point of view.
Of course, in terms of expectations, there’s quite a difference between the Blues and the Cottagers, but Adarabioyo has rightfully earned himself this move.
Chelsea are in need of solidity at the back, especially after the departure of the veteran Thiago Silva at the end of last season. At 26, Adarabioyo is nicely set up to occupy that void.
