A View From The Bridge

Watch: Eden Hazard’s stunning free-kick on Chelsea return

Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard shows his free-kick prowess in Charity match

Lots of memories were rolled back when former Chelsea star Eden Hazard stepped onto the Stamford Bridge pitch and remembered the moments he enjoyed before his side took on the England team for the Soccer Aid match. The Soccer Aid page on Instagram posted the forward’s clip scoring a free-kick against the England World X1 team.

The former Real Madrid player didn’t fail to show that he still has quality when he scored a wonderful free-kick past Liverpool goalkeeper David James to draw the charity match level after Joe Cole gave England the lead.

Hazard left for Real Madrid in 2019 after establishing one of the hot properties at Chelsea, but his move to Madrid became a nightmare as he failed to replicate his Chelsea success at the Spanish club, and frequent injuries saw him call an end to his football career.

Since his retirement, Hazard hasn’t decided yet what he will do with his career, as he plays charity games to raise funds for underprivileged kids. Hazard will always be regarded as one of the best players because of the style of play he played, even after his disastrous time at Madrid.

His freekick emphasises even more that he still possesses the ability, and given how frequently players have changed their minds to play football again, perhaps he can make a comeback by calling off his retirement. One of the greatest football players Lionel Messi ever has had his ambitions for playing for his country’s national team changed when he decided to retire in 2016.

Well, it’s his decision what he wants to do with his career. Hazard will be remembered for his time at Chelsea and how he became one of the best players here.

Had he remained at the club, he might have earned legend status, but he is still one of the most loved and cherished players the Blues have ever seen. Hopefully, he will play for more such charity matches and visit Stamford Bridge, as the Blues fans will get to see him often.
