“Very happy” – Chelsea’s 2-cap international posts message after joining up with national team ahead of Euro 2024

Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella posts photo on Instagram in Spain kit ahead of practice

Marc Cucurella is set to play for Spain at Euro 2024. The Chelsea left-back has so far made just two appearances for the national team and will have a chance to further solidify his position in the upcoming tournament. The Blues left-back shared a photo on Instagram donning a Spain shirt with the caption” Very happy and excited to be with this group. Let’s go!”

The 25-year-old enjoyed a productive season with Chelsea, with the Blues finishing sixth in the Premier League. Despite a poor start to the last campaign, the former Brighton & Hove Albion fullback bounced back in great form, and his performance has seen him get called up for Euro 2024.

After making the big-money move to Chelsea, Cucurella has already played for two seasons, but he hasn’t quite shown why the Blues paid so much to recruit the fullback. However, Cucurella shown in the second part of the previous season that he has the potential to develop into a player who can produce at a level that meets Chelsea standards.

He has improved a lot since returning from an ankle injury, and Cucurella is set to have more chances at the national team to show his credentials and prove that he deserves to remain at Stamford Bridge despite exit links after just a season at the club.

Cucurella is one of the most well-known fullbacks because of his aggressive defence, which also makes him a formidable left-back and an outstanding player due to his ability to make decisive tackles. He may now do the same role for the national team after being utilised as an inverted fullback by Mauricio Pochettino. He’s reached a particular level of game refinement.

Marc Cucurella has made only two appearances for Spain.

His performance has been recognised by the national team coach, and now he will have a big chance to further prove his mettle. Spain are one of the favourites to win the competition given their massive young talented pool of players, who have all the pedigree to perform at the top level of football competitions.

Among them, Cucurella is an experienced left-back, and hopefully, we will see a top performance in the competition. He can end the season with a silverware if Spain are to reach the final.
