Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea are pushing to reach a personal agreement with Michael Olise

Fabrizio Romano has continued with an update on Chelsea’s pursuit of Michael Olise and confirmed the Blues are pushing to reach a personal agreement with Crystal Palace. Olise is also a target for Manchester United, but Chelsea are pressing for their former academy player.

Chelsea had a protracted interest in signing Olise during the summer transfer window. They came close to signing the 21-year-old after activating his release clause, only for the deal to collapse and Olise to sign a new contract with Palace, where he has only emerged more of a hot prospect in the league.

Last season, Olise’s campaign was beset with injuries, but the Frenchman competed with 10 goals and six assists in 19 Premier League games. The Blues are confident that this time they will manage to sign their former academy player.

A recent update on Romano confirms that the Blues are pressing for his signing and want to complete it before any other club hijacks their deal. Speaking to CaughtOffisde, he further said:

“Chelsea are “really pushing on Olise, trying to agree personal terms; next days will be important to know what Chelsea will do for the player.”

Chelsea are pressing to sign Michael Olise.

Chelsea seem adamant about securing Olise’s signing, which means they will keep pushing until they reach an agreement with Palace. We have seen many times how the Blues have pressed on the signing of players; it was Enzo Fernandez when the board wanted to land the midfielder somehowhow and did manage to sign him and last season with Moises Caicedo when they pushed for his signing despite Liverpool presenting a bigger offer.

Thus, this could be another instance where the Blues will continue to push for his signing and won’t rest until they bring him to the club. Therefore, it is going to be a long summer transfer window for the Blues, and we could see more signings before the club commences their new campaign under Enzo Maresca.
