Chelsea have registered their interest for Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Chelsea have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer.
The Blues are ramping up their transfer plans as new manager Enzo Maresca looks to stamp his authority on the squad, having arrived as a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino after guiding Leicester City to Premier League promotion at the first time of asking.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was one of the standout performers in Leicester City’s Championship-winning campaign last season. The central midfielder made 49 appearances under Enzo Maresca at the King Power Stadium, netting 12 goals and assisting 15 on top of that in a highly successful season.
According to a report from The Athletic, Chelsea have contacted Leicester City over a potential swoop for Dewsbury-Hall. Maresca appears to be interested in reuniting with the 25-year-old at Stamford Bridge, with the England youth international perfectly fitting for the style of football the Italian tactician wants to employ in the 2024/25 season.
Dewsbury-Hall’s current terms at Leicester runs until 2027 (Transfermarkt), which means he is not expected to be available for a modest fee. The aforementioned report claims the midfielder is interested only in a move to Maresca’s Chelsea if he decides to leave the King Power Stadium this summer.
It isn’t surprising to see Maresca go back to his former club Leicester and try bringing in a couple of players from the 2023/24 title-winning season. Dewsbury-Hall was one of the Foxes’ stars and thoroughly deserves the recognition he has received, with Brighton and Hove Albion having reportedly previously shown an interest in him.
At the age of 25, the English midfielder is heading towards the peak stages of his career and one could imagine that he is ready to play for one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League. He has played in the Premier League before and that experience could help him settle down quickly at Chelsea if a move materialises.

With his passing ability, work rate and dynamism, Dewsbury-Hall could complement the likes of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in the Blues’ engine room. He would also add quality depth to the West London club’s midfield ranks that looked depleted last season following injuries to Romeo Lavia, Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu.
That said, Chelsea must quickly step up their interest in Dewsbury-Hall and agree a deal with Leicester.
