Dean Jones feels there are chances Chelsea can re-sign Dominic Solanke

Dean Jones’ recent statement on Bournemouth star striker Dominic Solanke confirms that the Blues could once again go for him. The 26-year-old had a prolific season last term, scoring 19 goals in 38 Premier League games.

Solanke has attracted interest from other clubs as well, and it will be interesting to see where he goes next season; it could be Chelsea. The Blues signing of a striker has been a main focus, and they will want to acquire a prolific and reliable centre-forward with immaculate finishing traits.

In addition, Solanke provides that and has experience with the Premier League. He so presently satisfies these boxes, minimising any issue the Blues might have had. It’s still unclear, though, because the Blues have other options that they plan to explore throughout the summer window.

Jones feels Chelsea could return Solanke, who is a former Blues academy player. Speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Jones commented on the forward situation and said:

“He’s been brilliant, and Bournemouth won’t want to lose him, but the player’s head would be turned if there was serious interest in him. It wouldn’t surprise me if Chelsea or Newcastle were to look in his direction.”

This season, Solanke came as a surprise, proving to be a top-tier player who can perform exceptionally well when given the opportunity. Having spent ten years with the club as a young player and having the opportunity to present the senior team, the 26-year-old is familiar with Blues culture, even though he was never given the possibility to play any games.

He might be the perfect addition for us because he has also shown his durability in the league. He will join a team that has a wealth of offensive talent, and the Blues may decide to make another run at him if they are unable to secure a top target.
