Chelsea star Armando Broja apologises to Albanian fans after nation’s elimination from Euro 2024

Chelsea striker Armando Broja shared a story on his Instagram apologizing to Albanian fans after his nation were eliminated from Euro 2024, finishing last in Group B. Albania couldn’t secure a single win, managing only one draw. Italy and Spain advanced to the last 16 of Euro 2024.

Albania always faced an uphill battle in a group that included the 2020 Euro winners, 2012 winners, and 2018 FIFA World Cup finalists. However, they did manage to draw against Croatia, which will be seen as the highlight of their Euro 2024 campaign.

Albania isn’t considered a top football nation, but they can certainly make an impact with the right manager. A head coach who can introduce new principles and strategies could change the fortunes of the team, setting them on a path to success.

Austria serves as an example, having topped their group that included the Netherlands, Poland, and France. This tournament will be a valuable lesson for Albania and a significant experience for players like Broja, who had a disappointing campaign at the club level last season.

Broja was expected to lead the line and played in Albania’s first match against Italy, where they made history by scoring the quickest goal. However, against Croatia, he was an unused substitute, and in their 1-0 defeat to Spain, he entered the match as a substitute but failed to make the expected impact.

Armando Broja will now return to Chelsea for a pre-season tour after Albanian elimination from Euro 2024.

Meanwhile, Broja’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain. The Blues have signed a new striker, Marc Guiu, and already have Nicolas Jackson, casting doubt on Broja’s role at the club. His future will become clearer when the next season starts.

Broja will take some time off to enjoy his vacation before the next term. There is still some time before the new season begins, allowing Broja to recover and hopefully be ready for pre-season with Chelsea.
