A View From The Bridge

“I am enjoying myself”- Newcastle United star speaks on his future amid Chelsea transfer links

Alexander Isak says he is enjoying his time at Newcastle United amid Chelsea links

Chelsea-linked striker Alexander Isak has made his feelings clear on his exit from Newcastle United and says he is enjoying playing for the club after joining them from La Liga side Real Sociedad. Isak’s addition has seen the Magpies become one of the most challenging sides in the Premier League.

Isak has taken the Premier League by storm and has become a crucial player for the Magpies, helping them secure a Champions League spot. Since coming to the English top-flight, he has been a revelation and his performance seems to have attracted other league giants.

His exploits have captivated the Blues, who have held talks with the player, indicating that the West Londoners are keen on signing the 24-year-old. Last season, the Sweden international enjoyed a great season, scoring 21 Premier League goals in 30 matches.

However, amid Chelsea links, Isak has confirmed his future and isn’t inclined towards a move away from Tyneside. Speaking to the Fotballskanalen, he said via Football. London:

“I am enjoying myself at Newcastle, and I had the best season in my career—that should not be underestimated. I love everything about the club—the fans and the city.’’

Isak is the type of striker Chelsea should look for because he has everything to fit into the club’s system and he has Premier League experience. The Swedish boasts excellent technicality as a striker and can make a difference in the No. 9 role. There are different types of strikers: one who has lethal finishing and another who has technical finishing, and Isak is the former.

He possesses everything Chelsea might need, but considering the forward’s £115 million price tag and wages—which the Blues must ascertain before making a move—it now appears questionable. In his statement, he expresses his desire to stay with the team, but Chelsea can offer him higher prospects to win additional trophies.
