Formidable Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella took to social media after making an impactful performance for Spain in the preparatory matches. Chelsea’s left-back posted pictures on Instagram with the caption, “We finished the preparation with a good feeling. Next stop: @euro2024!”
The Blues left-back is ready for Euro 2024, as Spain begins its Euro campaign on June 15 against Croatia in Group B. It will also challenge Italy and Albania.
Cucurella has three senior caps for Spain and was a member of the silver medal-winning under-23 squad at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. He was also a member of the team that reached the semifinals of the 2021 Under-21 European Championships.
Having reached a particular level of game refinement Cucurella is one of the most well-known fullbacks because of his aggressive defence, which also makes him a formidable left-back and an outstanding player due to his ability to make decisive tackles. He is expected to play the same role for the national team after being used as an inverted fullback by Mauricio Pochettino.
The Chelsea left-back has only made two appearances for the national team and will have the opportunity to secure his status in the upcoming tournament.
He has improved a lot since returning from an ankle injury. Cucurella is set to have more chances with the national team to show his credentials and prove that he deserves to remain at Stamford Bridge despite exit links after just a season at the club.
After securing a 5-0 victory against Andorra, in which Cucurella gave an impeccable performance, Spain eased a 5-1 win over Northern Ireland this Saturday in the warm-up.
His national team coach has acknowledged his performance, and he now has an excellent opportunity to demonstrate his abilities.
Spain is one of the favourites to win the Euro 2024 Cup because of their enormous young skilled pool of players, all of whom have the pedigree to compete at the highest level of football.
Marc Cucurella’s preparation for Euro 2024 is a positive indicator for Spain. His efforts in the warm-up games not only established his status on the team but also bolstered the squad’s overall confidence. As the tournament kicks off, all eyes will be on Cucurella.
