France's UEFA Euro 2024 hero credits Chelsea for improving his game and opens the door to Europe return

Ex-Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante says he wants to end his career in Europe

Ex-Chelsea player N’Golo Kante has provided an insight about his future and said he wants to end his career in Europe despite a move to Saudi Pro League from Blues. After moving there, it appeared the Frenchman was in the twilight of his career and could hang his boots in the Middle East, but this isn’t the case.

He also credited Chelsea for improving his attacking aspect of the game. With France winning once and drawing once in their last two Group matches, Kante showed that he is still a world-class midfielder by winning the Man Of The Match award in both of the matches.

It was least expected from Kante to be included in the Les Bleus squad but his performance has demonstrated that he is still one of the finest midfielders in Europe. Now a move back to the continent hasn’t been ruled out by the former Blues star.

Kante is just 33 and still has a few years left to play, he maybe can return to his childhood club where it all started but a move back to Chelsea could be improbable. Speaking to the reporter ahead of the France match, the midfielder said about his future when asked where he will end his career in Saudi via Metro:

‘’No, it’s not over. I appreciate the feedback. In Saudi Arabia, it’s new football, a new experience. Finding these feelings again with the French team is beautiful, it touches me, and we want to do well. But that’s not a question I’m asking myself today.’’

”These are things that I learned to repeat at Chelsea. We will say that it is also the maturity and sensitivity to do it at the right time with the French team. For the moment it is working well.”

Kante has still some years left to play and given what we saw when he played for France in the Euros, it appears he still has it in him to play at the highest level of football. Before departing Chelsea, Kante struggled with injuries that seemed to be ending his career. However, after moving to Saudi Arabia, he was able to resume his best form, and a call-up to the France national team turned everything around for the great player, proving he could still be a dominant force in the midfield.

After moving to Cheslea, the Frenchman further enhanced his playing style to become a recognisable midfielder. He can return to Europe and will still be a top player but a move to Chelsea is very unlikely. He will have a chance to end his career on a high note by returning to his childhood club.
