Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea target Julian Alvarez is not for sale

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided Manchester City’s stance on the sale of Julian Alvarez and confirmed the striker is not for sale, despite interest from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Alvarez said to be was unhappy with his minutes on the pitch at City, as he hopes to spend more game time at the club, but with Erling Haaland ahead of him in the starting lineup under Pep Guardiola, it has proven to be difficult for the Argentine to be a priority striker.

Given the abundance of talent that he possesses, Alvarez would be a starting striker at most clubs around the world. At only 24, he is already fulfilling his potential, thus it begs the question of why he is a backup forward at City. If he wants people to see his potential, he should put himself to the test at other clubs.

Despite this, Alvarez will be continuing at City after Romano confirmed the former River Plate striker isn’t for sale and the defending Premier League champions have no intention to sell him, (Football. London):

“No Premier League club has presented a concrete and serious proposal for the player. PSG is the most interested team. It was fun to think about while it lasted, at least.’’

Chelsea seem to have not shown enough interest in signing Alvarez, given that they are looking to sign a striker in the transfer window. He is best suited to our team and will bring great finishing quality if we can sign him. Remaining at City won’t be good for his growth, as Alvarez is unlikely to be the first-choice striker when they already have Haaland, who is one of the best strikers in the league.

He will be most beneficial to Chelsea, but it doesn’t seem realistic given the Blues’ lack of desire to sign him. But, there is still a long summer transfer window left, so anything can happen while the Blues consider their alternatives for the No. 9 position. Perhaps they will buy a dependable and seasoned attacker this time.
