“No chance” of Chelsea star leaving Stamford Bridge to join Jose Mourinho’s team, confirms Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea star Raheem Sterling will not join Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce

The transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, reveals that Raheem Sterling will not be joining Fenerbahce this summer to work with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

Recent speculations said Sterling was close to a move to Fenerbahce, who had recently recruited Mourinho as their new manager, but Romano has denied the allegations.

Fabrizio Romano shed light on Sterling’s transfer rumours, as he stated in his exclusive Daily Briefing column for Caught Offside:

The strikers’ market is slowing entering important weeks and things will happen in June, but someone who is not planning to make a move at least as of now is Raheem Sterling.

He isn’t leaving Chelsea and joining Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahçe, even if the Turkish club are willing to make very good investments for the Portuguese manager.

I repeat, there is absolutely nothing between Raheem Sterling and Fenerbahçe. Zero. No contracts ongoing, no negotiations ongoing, no talks. We will follow the situation but everything is really quiet around Sterling at the moment

Sterling joined Chelsea for £50 million from Manchester City in 2022, in the first season under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.

Fabrizio Romano shuts down Sterling’s transfer rumours

The England international was hailed as a big acquisition, but things haven’t gone as planned for Sterling or Chelsea since his return to London.

The 29-year-old had another tough season at Stamford Bridge, scoring only eight goals and providing four assists in 31 Premier League games.

Raheem Sterling is Chelsea’s highest-paid player, as the England international was a top Premier League player a few years ago but has since deteriorated. Chelsea fans and officials are not happy with him following his bad performances on many occasions and a perceived lack of effort.

Sterling not leaving the Blues

The winger has been linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge, and the Blues would undoubtedly like to get his hefty salaries off their books

The Blues have been closely connected with Michael Olise, who was expected to replace Sterling after his departure from the squad.

The Englishman was reported to be happy at Chelsea but many believed that a departure from English football would be beneficial for him. However, that door has been closed for Sterling, as the transfer expert denies the possibility completely.
