Chelsea might sacrifice two key players to sign Michael Olise
According to a report by The Daily Mail, Chelsea are ready to offer their two first-team players to Crystal Palace to complete their long-term interest in signing 22-year-old star Michael Olise.
The Blues made a £35 million offer for Olise last summer, thinking it would activate a complicated release clause in his contract. However, their attempts to sign him were unsuccessful. Chelsea contacted Crystal Palace last week to rekindle their interest in the attacker.
Olise signed a contract with a convoluted release clause worth up to £60 million after Chelsea’s effort to recruit the outstanding player last summer failed. To sign him this summer, the Blues are now willing to sacrifice Noni Madueke and Trevoh Chalobah.
How did Chelsea think of this bizarre deal?
Despite being a fan favourite and enjoying a fantastic second half of the season after his injury return, Chalobah is anticipated to depart this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino gave Madueke a run in the team towards the conclusion of the season, and he made some significant contributions as the season came to a close. He scored eight goals and provided three assists during his 34 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.
Michael Olise would compete with Madueke for the right-wing position if he joined, but the Blues need the depth because of the extra games they will play in the upcoming season. It might be a huge gamble, though, to offer two key players for whom the Blues spent a plethora of money.
Olise, whose brother Richard is still a member of the Chelsea youth system, has ties to the club, having spent seven years at the academy before departing at the age of 14. Thus, the West London club may have an advantage in the competition for Olise.
Chelsea’s willingness to offer their two key first-team players in exchange for Olise shows how much they recognise his potential to become an outstanding player, which will help the club in the long term.

It might be risky to go for a deal like this but seeing Todd Boehly’s transfer approach over the past couple of seasons, it is not surprising that he wants to go beyond limits to sign the player he wants.
