Chelsea striker Armando Broja is reportedly attracting interest from several clubs across Europe.
The Albania international has been strongly linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge this summer. The striker has struggled to rediscover his mojo after recovering from a serious long-term knee injury. He missed half of the 2022-23 season after rupturing his ACL in December 2022, and such an injury has harmed his form and confidence.
Armando Broja, who recently featured at the 2024 European Championships, was mostly limited to appearances off the bench during the first half of the past season at Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino. He managed just one goal in 13 appearances, and after finding it difficult to become a regular starter, the Blues decided to loan him out to rivals Fulham during the second half of the season.
However, there was no change of fortunes as he failed to net a single goal in eight appearances for Fulham. After the expiry of his six-month loan spell with the Cottagers, the 22-year-old has returned to Stamford Bridge but his future remains up in the air.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on Broja. The Italian journalist, speaking on his official YouTube channel, has urged Chelsea fans to keep a close watch on the striker due to him hearing interest from many clubs.
“Keep a close eye on Armando Broja because I am hearing there is interest of several clubs,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“In the last 24 – 48 hours, clubs like Everton and also others started moving around Armando Broja, so there could be movement around him in the weekend. We know for financial fair play, it is a crucial weekend for many clubs.”
Everton’s supposed interest in Broja is understandable. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is keen on leaving Goodison Park this summer amid interest from Newcastle United and the Toffees may view the Chelsea man as his potential replacement. Wolves have lately shown an interest in the player as well. The Wanderers struggled for a regular supply of goals in the 2023/24 season and could take a punt on Broja to solve their woes.
Despite a forgettable individual 2023/24 campaign, Broja seems to have a lot of suitors if we go by Romano’s latest update. At 22, the Albanian still has a lot of football left in him and would fancy his chances of building his career elsewhere if Chelsea decide to move him on.
Broja is a talented player, and with maturity, the right coaching and management, he should be able to supply goals reliably for any of Wolves, Everton or any European club.
