Chelsea FC midfielder Conor Gallagher has been linked with a move away from Stafford Bridge in the upcoming summer transfer window as the PSR compliance restrictions are evaluated in West London, complemented by their need to sell.
The England midfielder has been phenomenal in the recently concluded season, with some impressive performances from the middle of the park while playing a hybrid eight role. He has always been someone who is always running and striving to make things happen, even in the midst of the most disastrous performances.
It would not be a difficult chore for Chelsea to sell the former Derby star, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa vying for his signatures this summer. Moreover, the latest reports also suggest Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid is interested in securing his services.
However, the 24-year-old is not keen on moving clubs unless his requirements for a move away aren’t met and would not rule out the prospect of continuing another season in West London and eventually calling quits on a free transfer next summer, per The Guardian. Chelsea do have a policy of letting players in the final year of their contract leave the Bridge, and they are looking for at least £50 million for the England midfielder. While the player is not keen on securing his future just yet as he travels to Germany to represent the Three Lions in the upcoming European Championship.
There is an expectation that he will not be pressured into a move away from Stamford Bridge, which is not the right move for his career. The Cobham graduate is a firm favorite at Stamford Bridge, and he holds all the cards for determining his future.
While Villa has already opened talks with Chelsea, Tottenham are also expected to make a move for him. It is to be seen if the player and Chelsea agree to a move away this summer.
