Chelsea retain interest in 27-year-old Barcelona midfield star.

Chelsea star Noni Madueke seeks inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo’s work ethic and success

In a recent interview on Chelsea’s YouTube page, Noni Madueke said that he looked up to the Manchester United legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, when he was younger and is deeply inspired by the Portuguese superstar’s work ethic.

Madueke joined Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in January 2023. While hs is yet to stake a regular spot in our first XI, the talent remains unquestionable.

After struggling in his first six months and a rocky start to the previous season, Noni Madueke began to find his feet in the second part of the season and ended the 2023-24 campaign on a strong note.

The 22-year-old joined Chelsea on a seven-and-a-half-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year. Last season, he made 35 Premier League appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing some critical contributions as Chelsea finished in the top six.

Madueke demonstrated his talent and capabilities by improving drastically from the start of the season to its conclusion, showcasing his potential to become a key player for Chelsea in the future.

Madueke said in the interview that he is inspired by Ronaldo’s work ethic and drive to be the greatest. He stated: “When I was younger, I looked up to Ronaldo,”

“When he first came to the Premier League, the talent was there to see but when he realised that he had to outwork everyone else to be the best, he became the best, so I take inspiration from that as well.”

We prefer our players hold lofty ambitions and Ronaldo certainly is a befitting idol to imitate on the field. If Madueke can become half the player the Al Nassr man is, we will have a game changing star in our midst.
