Chelsea midfielder poses in Ecuador jersey ahead of Copa America 2024
Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo is ready to light up the Copa America, as Ecuador are certainly going to be one to watch out for in this tournament. The South American giants are filled with plenty of talented stars and could challenge many big sides in the competition.
Caicedo shared a photo on Instagram donning an Ecuador jersey with the caption ‘’almost there.’’ Ecuador are in Group B alongside Mexico, Venezuela, and Jamaica, and it seems they can easily top the group, with Mexico only presenting a real threat.
However, Brazil and Argentina are going to be favourites in the competition, as always. Caicedo will be the backbone of the national team midfield, while another Chelsea star, Kendry Paez, will be looking to show the world what he is capable of and why the Blues moved quickly to sign him.
Caicedo’s development has been seamless since he grew into a top midfielder at Brighton & Hove Albion, and his exploits over the season saw clubs interested in signing him. The most interested team in acquiring the midfield player was Chelsea, who broke the British transfer record to do so in the previous season.
His move to Chelsea was the most exciting one, but Caicedo had tough times at the club, and when you are signed with a mammoth price tag, all eyes will always be on you to deliver exemplary performances week in and week out in the league.
After he became comfortable at the club, Caicedo managed to show why the Blues spent exorbitant money on his acquisition, and now is the time to deliver for the national team.
