Chelsea are plotting a raid as they contact Benjamin Sesko and Michael Olise and look to scupper Arsenal and Manchester United’s transfer plans. Arsenal are currently leading the race to sign Sesko, while United are keen on acquiring Olise.
According to Foot Mercato, (h/t Metro), Chelsea have made contact with Sesko representatives as they attempt to bolster their No. 9 position. Enzo Maresca, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino, will have a busy summer during the transfer window.
The Blues have made signing a striker a priority, and Sesko is now the latest candidate to make the list of Chelsea’s acquisitions of a centre-forward. The West Londoners are in talks with RB Leipzig to hijack the Arsenal deal, which could be a repeat of 2023 when they signed Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The Blues are also keeping an eye on Olise’s situation and have made his signing a concrete possibility. Olise completed the season on a strong note, scoring 10 goals in 19 Premier League games despite playing fewer matches due to injuries.
Sesko has emerged as one of the most talented young strikers because of goalscoring traits and his 6’5 height makes him an intimidating centre-forward. He completed the Bundesliga season with 14 goals in the league last campaign in 31 games.
Sesko is another upgrade at number nine for Chelsea, who are eager to get a striker given they now only have Nicolas Jackson, while Armando Broja’s future is uncertain. Despite having distinct playing styles, they both have the enormous talent to develop and become premier strikers.
It is unlikely to be easy, though, as Arsenal will likely want to sign the Slovenian player given that they will challenge for the Premier League title once more and offer him Champions League football. Chelsea will once again start afresh under a new manager and can pursue him to join them because he will join a different project and the most successful club in London.
Another interesting prospect is Olise, but if Chelsea wants to sign him, they must make room on the right wing. If not, Palmer is likely to shift into an attacking midfield role, with Madueke and Olise occupying the right wing. As a result, the Blues are set to be an intense battle against both United and Arsenal to achieve their objectives; but first, we need to generate substantial profit to afford both the players.
