According to Football. London, Chelsea are expected to speak with Michael Olise and his advisors in the coming days after Crystal Palace have given their permission. The 22-year-old’s contract at Selhurst Park had a £60m release clause, but any move would be complicated as some of the money is owed to his former club Reading.
The release clause is quite cheap at £60 million considering the calibre of the player in question, and his worth will rise naturally.
However, they also state that Crystal Palace have now granted Chelsea permission to speak with the 22-year-old winger, implying that the transfer is moving forward.
Chelsea have identified Olise as their top target as they try to sign another right winger this summer. The Blues want to offer Enzo Maresca more alternatives in his front line as he prepares for his first season with the club after being named head coach on a five-year deal earlier this month.
This summer, Chelsea will face competition from Newcastle and Bayern Munich for Olise.
Olise has a release clause worth over £60 million, and any transaction will be complicated, with percentages split between his former club Reading, Palace, and Olise.
This certainly makes things more complicated, which is why this one may take a while to complete.
However, Olise would be worth it, and Chelsea would do all possible to make this happen. He is a high-level talent who might make an immediate impact at Chelsea and let’s hope we get this over the line.
