Chelsea expecting bid for Omari Hutchinson
Chelsea have been busy in the off-season so far, having confirmed Enzo Maresca’s appointment as the new manager and followed it up with the signings of Tosin Adarabioyo and Estevao Willian in recent days.
According to Express, the Blues are hoping to sign Jonathan David from Lille and Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa in the upcoming days but expect to make a sale before it to aid in completing those two signings.
Omari Hutchinson is the player expected to depart Stamford Bridge for good after he had an impressive spell on loan with Ipswich Town last summer, scoring 10 times and providing six assists in their run to Premier League promotion.
Kieran McKenna’s side is understood to be keen on holding onto Hutchinson permanently and a bid worth £20 million is said to be ‘imminent’ from the Tractor Boys as they plan for life in England’s top-flight.
The Blues, however, are hoping that they can receive close to £30 million for Hutchinson’s sale, therefore suggesting that it may only be a matter of time before they come to a mutual agreement regarding the transfer fee with Ipswich Town.
The 20-year-old’s departure to Ipswich will provide Chelsea with a vital injection of funds that will prove handy in ensuring that they do not face charges by potentially breaching the Premier League’s Profitability & Sustainability Regulations.
Hutchinson is also an academy graduate, which means Chelsea’s sale of the Jamaican international will show absolute profitability in their accounting and enable them to accommodate fresher names in the squad this summer a bit more comfortably.
