Chelsea will keep Noni Madueke despite their pursuit of Michael Olise
Noni Madueke’s position is not in danger if Chelsea manages to sign Michael Olise in the summer transfer window. The Blues want to keep two players in the same position for the upcoming season as Chelsea continues to push for the former academy player’s acquisition.
According to the Athletic, (Express), Madueke will have a key role next season, and Cole Palmer will be moved to the No. 10 role under Enzo Maresca. Ever since the Blues made their interest known in Olise, Madueke’s future has come under doubt as both Olise and the 21-year-old operate from the same wing.
However, this isn’t the case, as the Blues are set to count on the former PSV Eindhoven star for their upcoming campaign. Last season, Madueke had a productive term, and his performances have convinced the Blues to keep him, as they feel he has a high ceiling, and with great nurturing, he could become one of the Blues’ best players.
Madueke joined Chelsea in January 2023 for £30 million and since his move to Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old has appeared in 46 matches for Blues, recording nine goals and four assists.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are continuing to push for Olise’s signing despite missing out on him last season. This time, Chelsea will be assessing their position and taking every step wisely, as they don’t want to repeat a similar mistake.
Keeping Madueke is a good decision because he is a talented player, and last season he showed glimpses of his exploits. He will only get better with time and patience. Last term, he played his first full season, and next campaign, he will head with plenty of experience and a point to prove.

Olise is already Premier League-proven, and his addition will bring more attacking intent to the team. It will be a healthy competition between Madueke and Olise for the spot, and they will grow steadily. Olise will also play a crucial role in aiding Maudeke in his development because both have different styles and certain aspects of Madueke’s game need refinement, which the Frenchman’s signing can enhance.
