Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea target Xavi Simons is yet to decide on his future
Fabrizio Romano has brought in a new update on Chelsea target Xavi Simons, who has been targeted by new clubs. The transfer journalist reveals the Dutch will make his future plan after the Euro 2024 and has additionally been linked with a move to Bayern Munich now.
Simons enjoyed a productive loan spell at RB Leipzig, appearing in 32 Bundesliga games, scoring eight goals, and providing 13 assists. The 21-year-old’s performance has attracted many clubs, and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on keeping the forward.
Simons is one of the most exciting players in Europe, and the clubs rate his talent. He has proven he can be an excellent forward for whichever club he joins. His qualities on the field make him an explosive dribbler in the pockets, a strong counter-presser, and ball-striking.
And now Romano presents an update on the Dutch forward, says Simons. Speaking on his CaughtOffside for his exclusive Daily Briefing, he said:
“Guys, there’s no update yet, and the player will decide what he wants to do after the Euros; it will take time. Bayern want him, it’s true; RB Leipzig too; and there are Premier League clubs also interested.”
‘’Xavi Simons is open to going on loan; it’s something really concrete, and I expect that to happen. It’s important to note that PSG has no plans to sell him on a permanent deal.”
Given his youth and ambition to contribute significantly on the pitch, Simons is one of the best players and his additions give the clubs fresh legs. Simons’ display for Leipzig demonstrated that he is suited to showcase his skill on a major club, which is in line with Chelsea’s recent policy of favouring the acquisition of young players.
However, the Blues already have a talented star in them, Mykhaylo Mudryk, who made a big-money move to the Blues last year in January, but he has yet to reach big heights. And even if the Blues plan to make a move for him, they will need some room on the left wing with the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling already there.
