Eden Hazard tells Chelsea to make Cesc Fabregas their next manager
Eden Hazard has jokingly backed Cesc Fabregas to take over Chelsea’s managerial position for next season after the Blues sacked Mauricio Pochettino after just one season at the club. Chelsea have drafted a short list of managers who have a chance to replace the Argentine manager.
Meanwhile, the former Blues players have been participating in charity games since announcing their retirement last year. Hazard left Chelsea for Real Madrid in 2019, but the Belgium forward failed to replicate his Chelsea success at the Spanish club.
He ultimately suffered frequent injuries and later decided to take the unfortunate decision to call off his career. It was one of the saddest moments for a forward who was still in his early 30s to continue.
With Chelsea continuing their search for a head coach, the former Blues player has suggested who should be the next manager. Speaking to TalkSport, the ex-player said:
“I also have my friend in Como; he can be the first manager.”
Hazard seemed to not have been convinced by Roberto De Zerbi’s name and suggested Fabregas. The former Blues player visited Cobham this month and talked to players. His work at Como has made him one of the upcoming intriguing managers, despite taking them to Serie A as an assistant coach.
The former Chelsea player is establishing himself, but it could be too soon to put him on the list of managerial candidates. He is still an inexperienced coach and should take on a manager position to further solidify his name.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will continue their search for a new manager and will hope to appoint a gaffer who has enough experience to lead this side from where Pochettino left off. It seems like it will be another big summer as the club will start afresh, from appointing a new manager to signing some players to reinforce the squad.
