A View From The Bridge

“The journey not over yet”- Exit-linked 31-year-old Chelsea loanee still focused on big achievements as he reminisces career milestone

Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku posts photo of his football debut on Instagram

Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku recalls his day with his childhood club when he made his professional debut in football. The 31-year-old posted on Instagram with the caption, ‘’ 15 years ago, the journey started at my club, @rscanderlecht. It’s been amazing. Good or bad, I’m always grateful to God for what he has done for my family. The journey’s not over yet.’’

The Belgium forward has been linked with an exit from the West Londoners. Lukaku 31 is currently on loan to AS Roma from Chelsea and has been in one of his best forms, scoring 21 goals across all competitions. Once the striker’s loan is over, the Blues will find a permanent buyer for the forward.

His chances of returning to Chelsea are little to none since, despite his potent play, they want to sell him because they don’t think he’s the right player to lead the No. 9 line after some challenging times with the club. Lukaku’s future at Chelsea was never in doubt following his critique of the team in an interview.

Chelsea’s aim is to sell the Belgium forward and offload his wages off the books, which will help the club financially. They will attempt to locate a new striker in the summer, as the club has prioritised the signing of another centre-forward.

However, they have been failing to find a permanent suitor for the former Everton striker and have only been able to send him a loan. Chelsea will hope that his surge in form at Roma will help them attract new clubs for his acquisition as Roma are unlikely to meet his release clause.

Chelsea hopes to sell Romelu Lukaku in the summer.

Lukaku has had a few turning points in his career since making his Anderlecht debut, but his performance hasn’t been particularly stable because he frequently experiences slumps in the middle of the season. In addition to poor performance, he has damaged his reputation with certain clubs.

More Chelsea news

First, it was Chelsea, then second, Inter Milan. But there is no doubt that he is one of the best strikers in Europe. The only thing he lacks is discipline. But he still has many years ahead of him and can end his career on a high note. Meanwhile, The Blues will be hoping to find a permanent club next season instead of sending him on another loan.
