A View From The Bridge

Simon Jordan ‘optimistic’ for Chelsea as he cites Mykhaylo Mudryk example to show team is finally taking shape under Todd Boehly

Simon Jordan feels Chelsea are finally assembling strong squad under Todd Boehly ownership

Simon Jordan has provided his opinion on Chelsea’s appointment of Enzo Maresca and feels the Chelsea squad is finally taking shape despite the club’s only current policy of signing young players. He feels Mykhaylo Mudryk has shown resilience despite enduring a dreadful debut season.

Mudryk was signed for a high fee worth around £88.5m, but the forward has not shown his potential. Last campaign, the 23-year-old did show glimpses of his talent, but it feels like he is still far away from his ceiling. previous term, the forward scored seven goals in all competitions under Mauricio Pochettino.

And now that a new manager is coming to Chelsea, he will hope to bring the best out of the Ukrainian forward. Mudryk has everything he needs to become one of the best players, but there are certain aspects he needs to address before refining his game, and hopefully, Maresca will be pivotal in doing that.

Former Crystal Palace chairman Jordan is optimistic about Mudryk’s development and feels Todd Boehly’s side is finally taking shape. Speaking to TalkSport, he said:

‘’I think Chelsea have made moderate sense, and you are seeing players come through now that are beginning to get even Mudryk, who’s had a dreadful season, beginning to look like something vaguely resembling.’’

Enzo Maresca first task will be to develop a lot of young players.

Mudryk still has a ways to go before he fully settles at Chelsea, despite Pochettino’s best efforts to help him progress. The Blues have invested a substantial sum of money to acquire Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk. Although Mudryk has the ability to alter the outcome of the game, he had a respectable season last year. Although he moves quickly and can have a significant impact, he still has to polish the technical areas of the game.

Maresca will have an ideal moment assisting Mudryk with his game because he is a player who can reach great heights. His performance has shown us that he is capable of doing anything he wants to when he is confident. Though the players still need to get better, he can beat opponents and has excellent vision. Hopefully, he will be a vital member of our team next season.
