A View From The Bridge

Premier League manager one of the favourites to become new Chelsea manager after Behdad Eghbali ‘struck by his personality’

Chelsea add Premier League manager to their priority after remarks by Behdad Eghbali

The recent coach of Premier League club, Brighton & Hove Albion, Roberto De Zerbi, is now emerging as one of the main contenders to fill the vacant spot of manager at Chelsea. The former Brighton boss has joined Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna, Leicester’s Enzo Maresca and Brentford’s Thomas Frank on the Blues’ managerial shortlist.

According to reports from Independent UK, Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali is fond of the former Brighton boss and he is “struck by” his personality. The fondness of Chelsea owners for him, made him enter the race to succeed Mauricio Pochettino.

The Italian coach De Zerbi seems to be keen on a return to the managerial game. With a talent and qualities as his he can certainly join the Blues and make his way around the youngsters to lead them.

De Zerbi could be useful for the Blues

Although the boss left, for the 44-year-old Italian manager, the Seagulls are probably going to ask for a compensation fee most likely to be around £5million. Before Chelsea can begin preparing for the transfer window, they must hire a quality manager.

It could be a good idea to appoint the Italian. With Brighton, he has demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League, and he has the ability to bring out the best in Chelsea’s players. Without a question, the Blues have a strong team that needs a top manager to have them playing at a high level once more.

De Zerbi will be keen to grab the chance to oversee one of the largest teams in the nation and will want to establish himself there. At a team like Chelsea, there will be extremely high expectations and a constant expectation of winning the titles.

De Zerbi wants to prove himself and Chelsea is a right platform for that

With superior players at his disposal, he should be able to flourish at Chelsea given his impressive offensive style from Brighton. He is regarded as one of the finest young managers in European football right now.

It will be intriguing to watch if the 44-year-old manager of Chelsea can live up to the demands and win titles. Hopefully, next season won’t witness another sacking shortly after the manager’s first year at the club.
